Doña Leo, from Altolandon winery in the Manchuela DO, is a white wine made with Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains variety. With a beautiful deep-yellow color, it has a fragrant nose with pear, melon, pineapple, orange blossom, rose and elderflower.
While all this fruit and flower aromas lead one to expect a sweet wine, it is actually quite dry in the mouth, with a refreshing acidity, grapefruit notes to add to those found on the nose, and a great finish.
This wine has become my go-to wine to start almost any light meal, especially during Summer.
Tasted in 2023 and 2024.
